Pro Touring cars are very popular among the muscle car enthusiasts who love both, classic muscles and modern vehicles. We’ve seen a lot of Pro Touring Camaro’s, Chevelle’s and Mustang’s, but now it’s time for something different.
This time we have this stunning 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, customized to the bone and shining like a bright silver star. Even if you don’t like too much modifications on a classic ride, you got to admit that this vehicle is one of a kind.
As you can see from the title of this article, this 1979 Pontiac Pro Touring is powered by GM’s 346 cubic-inch, 5.7 liter LS1 Gen III small-block V8 engine, delivering 475 horsepower. The LS1 engine is mated to the GM’s 4L60E automatic transmission that spins GM’s 10-bolt rear-end with 3.73:1 gears and limited-slip differential.
It has custom 4-link rear suspension, with RideTech air springs and Air Lift shocks. The wheels are 20-inch Foose Nitrous, combined with Toyo 285/40R20 front and 315/35R20 rear tires. For safety there are Wilwood 13-inch rotors and 4-piston calipers on all wheels. Enjoy the photos and the video of this silver monster.
