What we have today it is a blast from the past, a pure stock drag race between two iconic classic American muscle cars. 1970 Ford Torino 429 Super Cobra Jet is flexing his muscles against the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 396 L78. So, you might already know the race result, however before watching the race let’s meet their specifications.

The Ford Torino has a pretty powerful machine under the hood. Ford’s 429 cubic-inch big-block Super Cobra Jet V8 engine. This engine produces 375 horsepower and 450 ft-lb of torque. The engine is attached by a 4-speed manual gear-box, transferring the power via 4.30 gear ratio at the rear wheels.

On the other side the Chevy Camaro is powered by a GM’s 396 cubic-inch, big-block L78 V8 engine, rated at 375 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine is bolted to a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission, which spins 4.10 rear gears. On the paper these two icons are very similar, but only one is a winner, therefore let’s see some action at the drag strip!
