On today’s muscle car menu we have this, super rare, super special 1971 Pontiac GTO Judge 455 Pilot Car. This GTO is one of our favorite muscle cars and in addition, is much cooler with his red-colored body than his twin orange brother. Everything about this muscle car is incredible, first, we must say that the original owner used this super rare 1971 Pontiac GTO Judge daily, and he never knew that his car was special.
It is special because it is a pre-production test car which means that it was used as an evaluation car to confirm assembly procedures and details for the ‘71 Judge program. The interior looks amazing, and probably is one of the most comfortable and well-equipped muscle cars, from that period. It is equipped with a black leather interior with wood grain dashboard, A-track radio, power steering, and a 4-speed Hurst shifter.
As a pilot car, this 1971 Pontiac GTO Judge is powered by a 455 cubic-inch 7.4 liter HO big-block V8 engine. With a four-barrel carburetor and Ram Air IV cylinder heads, the engine generates 335 horsepower and 480lb-ft of torque. A Muncie 4-speed manual transmission transfers the power to the rear wheels via Safe-T-Trac rear-end. Also, it has unique 15-inch Pontiac Honeycomb wheels, wrapped with Firestone Wide Oval tires.
