The term ‘Mach 1‘, is a scientific term used to describe the speed of sound, therefore Ford back in 1969 used this term for their performance-oriented option package on their Mustang models.

About the engine under the hood, there is a 428 cubic inch big-block Cobra Jet V8 engine, producing about 335 horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque.
