Today we have crazy powerful twin-turbo 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle 396 SS model, presented by the Australian number-one modified car magazine, Street Machine. This Chevelle has been modified and prepared by the Australian Chevelle team, where they will compete at the Drag Week 2016, with starting point from Hebron, Ohio, US.
As you have noticed this 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle 396 SS remains original, rusty and unchanged as much as possible. But as every other drag ready classic muscle car, the biggest changes are made under the hood. First of all you have notice those two big turbos, rising from the hood, which make this Chevelle look more like some angry wild animal.
But let see the actual Powertrain installed in this ‘69 Chevy Chevelle. The engine has Chevy based 540 cubic-inch V8 Dart Big-M block, equipped with crank, pistons and rods produced by Eagle. Above are installed Edelbrock/Musi Victor CNC heads with Victor Jr EFI intake and elbow. This engine runs on E85 and it’s boosted with a pair of 72mm BorgWarner turbochargers, which is enough to produce more than 1300 horsepower.
