However the owner of this Shelby GT500 has installed a 427 block with the factory 428 cylinder heads. Although the 427 engine is a lot more powerful than the regular 428.  With a 4-bbl carburetor this engine produces 390 horsepower, and is bolted to a 4-speed manual transmission.
